A Gun Enthusiast Tries to Keep Guns Out of the Wrong Hands, the result? He is wrongfully convicted. Rodney begins his 17th year in prison on March 25th, 2013: blog/2013/02/20/gun-control-what-happened-when-a-gun-enthusiast-tried-to-stop-the-sale-of-weapons-the-case-of-rodney-k-stanberry/
On March 25, 2013, Rodney begins the 17th year of his incarceration. How long will this injustice endure. Please take a look at this blog.

Today marks the completion of Rodney K. Stanberry’s 14th year in prison for crimes he did not commit. The Mobile DA’s office had evidence of Rodney’s innocence, it didn’t fit the prosecutor’s theory, so Rodney remains in prison and an injustice continues. Please keep Rodney, his family, and the victim’s family in your thoughts/prayers, as the Mobile County DA ’s office has done both families wrong.
Rodney was arrested in 1992, convicted in 1995, and began serving his prison sentence in 1997. He was approximately 23 when arrested, 26 when convicted, 28 when he spent his first day under the Alabama Department of Correction. He is currently 41, he will be 42 on April 27th, 2011. Rodney’s father was 58 when Rodney was arrested, 61 when Rodney was convicted, 63 when his son spent his first day in prison, and he is 77 on his son’s 14th complete year in prison. Rodney has a 14 year old son, and his mother is now in a nursing home close to his sister. His parents’ retirement years were taken away over this ordeal. Rodney came from a solidly two-parent, middle class household. He did not have a criminal record, he had a steady job that he worked at until he was sent to serve his prison term, he had a bank account, an excellent reputation, his entire future ahead of him, close friends and family and so on. If the Mobile DA’s office had followed the evidence instead of a theory, this ordeal would have been over long ago.

March 24th 2011- ???? Will Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich work to release Rodney K. Stanberry before he completes year 15th? With your activism and support, it is possible. A draft petition can be found at www.freerodneystanberry.com. The final version will be posted on March 25th, 2011, when Rodney begins his 15th year. Please look over it and consider signing it, sharing it with your friends, and sending it to Mobile District Attorney Ashley Rich. Mobile District Attorney John Tyson, Jr. should have worked to release Rodney before he left office, now it is up to DA Ashley Rich.
They talk about the revolving door of the prison system, obviously this isn’t the case for innocent people incarcerated. If you’re guilty, you get parole, if you’re innocent, you get to remain in prison: http://video.nytimes.com/video/2010/06/04/nyregion/1247467961918/the-innocent-prisoners-dilemma.html?WT.mc_id=VI-D-I-NYT-MOD-MOD-M153-ROS-0610-L1&WT.mc_ev=click
